The City of Littleton Public Works team will be hosting a Pop-up Safer Streets Practice Park on Saturday, August 2 during the Audi Denver Littleton Twilight Criterium and Arts Festival from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Nevada St. between Main St. and Powers Ave.
The Pop-up Practice Park is open to riders ages 5 and up to practice riding a bicycle in a safe environment. Bicycle Colorado will be providing bikes and helmets, while their Educators and Volunteers help riders learn to navigate the mini streets with other riders and gain confidence to ride on the roadway. Join us in the Practice Park before going on the Family Ride!
The Pop-up is a preview of the permanent Safer Streets Practice Park that is opening at the East Community Center this August. The permanent version creates a miniature street network that mimics the design of Littleton’s mobility infrastructure being installed around the city, such as protected bike lanes and traffic circles. It is a safe and educational car-free environment that teaches skills to learn how to ride, walk, and roll safely and feel confident on Littleton’s streets. The Practice Park is a public resource for the community that is open to use year-round.
